Well, I finally got the final version of the new logo. I have had a semi-final version of it in use on the sight for about a month now. But I now have the final files from the designers.
I usually do pretty much everything myself. Layout and programming of the site, designing marketing materials, whatever I have to do. But I thought, for the logo I would pay a professional, to have a great logo that I was proud to display. Truth is, I’m confortable designing things, but I have never been that confident in designing logos.
Besides, I thought it would be one thing off my plate, and it would probably get done sooner.
Heh. I was a fool.
I think it has taken about 3 months. I have spent more time dealing with revisions, being misunderstood, and having to ask for re-revisions then if I had just designed the thing myself. And, well, I am about 60% happy with it. Could I have done better myself? Maybe not. But it would have saved me a lot of time and money.
I don’t want to say who designed it, because I don’t really want to recommend them. I don’t want to dis them either – I mean, they did a fine job. Their customer service was great in some way, disappointing in many others. So, I’m just not going to say who it was.
In any case, I can now move on with a lot of things that have been waiting for this logo – a new postcard, a banner for book fairs, etc.
Its late again. I’m sleepy and ready for bead.
Here is the new logo, and good night!
