I think, as writers and publishers, it strongly behooves us to know where our typefaces come from, and how the history of print continues to effect the way we relate to words even in this digital age.

Letterpress is, to me, a fascinating art. This video gives a great introduction to what goes into it, and illustrates the laborious process that used to be the standard for creating a page of print.
