Not to step out from behind the non-partison curtain I usually try to stand behind – I think I would feel the same way about Glen Beck no matter where I stood on the political spectrum – But there is something very wrong with this man.
The socialism/Nazi name calling has gotten to such a fevered pitch lately that this seems like either a)extremely poor taste, b) a disgusting attempt to profit from hate or c) all of the above.
The only thing I can say is, if you’re going to dress up like a Nazi/Soviet and where that, excuse me, idiotic expression… well, you really shouldn’t call anyone else an idiot. Regardless of their politics.
I know, I know. (Now) Senator Frankin called Rush Limbough a Big Fat Idiot. I snickered when did. Sorry. But this is a completely new league of hate profit.
I do not like Glen Beck. There, I said it. I do not like him. Please do not buy this book. I will not link to it.

"Please do not buy this book"…careful sounds like an overt attempt at censorship!
August 20th, 2009 at 2:12 PM
…also…just as much as you are entitled to your opinion, so is he.

Pleading with you not to support something by paying for it is no where near advocating censorship of the thing. As Barney just said, It is "a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated."And besides, I was trying to be very clear – I would not discourage you from spending your money on this book because of it's political bent. There are plenty of books that I disagree with that I think you should totally buy.I don't want you to by this book because I can't stand the character (caricature) Glenn Beck has created – and this book seems to be a condensed version of what I can't stand about him.But I would never STOP you from buying it.The fact that he is trumping up cash to enrich himself by blatantly comparing liberals to Nazis/Communists is distasteful and lame. But I would never challenge his right to print it, nor your right to buy it.

As an added note, aside from the point above… I know there are a whole bunch of actual real live nazis in the US and… i don't think… they voted democrat…
August 20th, 2009 at 3:32 PM
Well, I'm no Nazi, and I voted neither Wepublican or Democrap. I do find it odd that a publisher of books would "step out" from behind the curtain to bash another book so to speak. Its OK to not like the man, but you must respect his opinion, he has a right to it. weather you agree with him or not. Would this be America if we didnt allow Nazis, or Wepublicans, or Democraps, or any other group that want to have a voice not be able to speak because someone else dosent like them. I think not. Perhaps, I dont like Fairy Tale books, lets all burn Snow White, whcih by the way could be interperted as a socialist/neo-communist work…… A good book to read would be Liberal Facisim, it the same method that the Nazis used in Germany. Who are the liberals blaming and calling domestic terrorists, and rabbel rousers beacuse they cant get their blatenly socialist health care bill passed? I seem to be rambeling on, and I get the feeling that you will be correcting my grammer….

So lets just call the point "moot", Do you remember that argument?
August 20th, 2009 at 3:59 PM
Hahaha. I do remember that. I think i was totally wrong in that argument, as I definately was in the Great Toothpaste Argument (if you remember THAT(!?!))… but that doesn't mean that I am wrong _this_ time, darn it! hehe. Actually, im not in a position of trying to be wrong or right in this case. Just insisting that in saying "dont buy this," I am not saying, "This has no right to be in print," or, "you souldn't be allowed to buy this." They just aren't the same. Any more than if I were to say, don't go see the GI Joe movie.I think you are mis-characterizing my point. I certainly don't want to burn anything; be it snow white or glenn beck. That's not even in the realm of what i am getting back.In fact, you sort of just ignored everything I wrote in my response. Also, I really do not have to respect his opinion, nor do I have to respect him as a result of his opinion. I certainly respect is right to _have_ his opinion, and would never seek to deny him that. You know?

I keep running out of room – hitting the char limit, heh.ps – I am in no position to comment on anyones grammer, so you are all good in that regard!
August 20th, 2009 at 5:20 PM
Actually I just missed having an argument with you!
